ABOUT CHASING CHECKMATE
Chess helps children improve critical thinking, patience, strategy, and simple math. It can also teach good sportsmanship and the ability to win and be humble as well as lose and remain confident.
Chasing Checkmate Chess Academy strives to teach every student love for the game of chess, and to build students' confidence as a chess player, which leads to overall confidence in life.
Coach Corey Acor is a FIDE Chess Master with 2 IM norms and has been a professional chess player and coach for the last 15 years. He runs numerous school chess programs in the Tampa Bay Area as well as summer camps, and chess tournaments!
Corey and his wife Amber spent 2021 and 2022 traveling Europe playing in chess tournaments so that Corey could get closer to his dream of becoming a chess GrandMaster. You can see their journey on their Instagram and Youtube channel Chasing Checkmate.
